Mermaid-themed birthday cake

Last weekend, I created a custom cake that I had been wanting to make for a while: a mermaid-themed birthday cake for a 4-year-old girl. The customer requested a two-tier cake (30 servings), which I decorated in pastel shades of blue, purple and pink. I added the birthday girl's name and continued decorating the cake with fondant shells and mermaid tails, which I had prepared a few days earlier and allowed to dry and harden properly. Finally, I finished the design with pearls, a touch of edible gold dust, and a number 4 candle.

Inside, the cake featured funfetti sponge layers filled with raspberry compote and vanilla mascarpone cream.

I was very happy with how this cake turned out and was delighted to receive wonderful feedback from my customer!
