For my 37th birthday last week, I invited a whole bunch of friends and family to a beautiful location in Nacka called Storängssalen, where we celebrated not only my birthday but also the end of summer.

The cakes I served included a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, a coconut cake with mango and passionfruit compote and coconut buttercream, a vanilla cake with Biscoff buttercream, and an apricot and pistachio tarte. I also made orange blossom madeleines, which I served with vanilla whipped cream.

As a German, the first day of school has always been a very special occasion for me. Growing up with the tradition of the Schultüte (school cone), I wanted to bring this lovely tradition to my own daughters and make their first day of school extra special — with not only a Schultüte, but also a cake to celebrate their big day!

Yesterday, my youngest daughter started school, and I made her the cake she had been dreaming of: lots of candy, a pink and purple colour scheme, and, of course, a “Schulkind” cake topper.

Besides baking baby shower cakes, I’ve noticed that many customers are also looking for something special for their gender reveal celebrations.

It’s been an amazing first half of the year for my little cake business – I baked more cakes than I would ever have expected to, and your feedback has truly made me a very happy baker. 

I am taking July off to spend the month with my family. I will be back in August and do have capacity for wedding cakes, birthday cakes, corporate cakes, gender reveal cakes and any cakes you wish for!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of baking a royal-inspired cake for a cake picnic hosted by Tiny Chairs. Together with a handful of talented bakers, we created a beautiful cake buffet inspired by the theme "Royal Cakes" at Prins Bertil's Boule Hall on Djurgården.

For the occasion, I made a vintage-style square cake decorated in a deep ruby red with plenty of shimmering ruby glitter. The bottom tier was a classic Black Forest cake—which turned out to be a huge hit! I had no idea so many people loved Black Forest cake so much. The top tier was a coffee cake filled with a vanilla espresso cream, my personal favourite!

It was the last day of school in many Swedish schools today, including ours, and to celebrate the “skolavslutning”, I made mini cakes for our teachers as well as cupcakes and cake pops for the students.

Last weekend, I created a custom cake that I had been wanting to make for a while: a mermaid-themed birthday cake for a 4-year-old girl. The customer requested a two-tier cake (30 servings), which I decorated in pastel shades of blue, purple, and pink. I added the birthday girl's name and continued decorating the cake with fondant shells and mermaid tails, which I had prepared a few days earlier and allowed to dry and harden properly. Finally, I finished the design with pearls, a touch of edible gold dust, and a number 4 candle.
