Vintage wedding cakes & vintage cakes

A week ago, I created my very first vintage wedding cake for a lovely bride and her now-husband. They chose a vanilla sponge filled with white chocolate buttercream and raspberry compote – a combination that turned out to be a real hit. I’m not usually a white chocolate fan, but this cake completely won me over!

The cake featured three tiers (20 cm, 15 cm, and 12 cm), decorated with white buttercream shells and borders. The cocktail cherry finish complemented the vintage style beautifully, and I really adored how it turned out.

With berry season approaching, there’s always the option to add fresh berries to a vintage wedding cake (or simply a vintage cake – they make wonderful birthday cakes too). I’m also happy to incorporate colour if you’d like something a little less traditional and more playful, it’s entirely up to you.
