Cakes I served at my own birthday party
For my 37th birthday last week, I invited a whole bunch of friends and family to a beautiful location in Nacka called Storängssalen, where we celebrated not only my birthday but also the end of summer.
It was a beautifully dry, warm, and at times even sunny day, which meant that the 30+ children who were part of the festivities could run freely through the forest surrounding Storängssalen and play at the nearby playground. We organised a treasure hunt for them, my husband played music, we had a BBQ outside, and I styled an opulent table filled with sweet and savoury delicacies.
The cakes I served included a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, a coconut cake with mango and passionfruit compote and coconut buttercream, a vanilla cake with Biscoff buttercream, and an apricot and pistachio tarte. I also made orange blossom madeleines, which I served with vanilla whipped cream.
The cakes disappeared within the blink of an eye, and the wonderful feedback almost made me emotional.
It was such a beautiful day, so I thought I’d share some images with you! If you are interested also in the savoury food I made for the event, have a look on my Instagram account.
All the best,
